Testimonial
Dear Karen,
"I am writing to thank you for the extraordinary experience of riding Abuelo through JLF. As you know, I was incested by a cousin at 8 years of age and my Mothers uncle at 10. Though blessed with an incredible family who believed me and took action to protect me, I still experienced a shattering of my trust in my ability to make decisions. I thought there must be something wrong with me for wanting the attention. When it happened again at 10 with someone different, I thought I must be attracting these men. (Later, I found out that it wasn't me at all, and that he preyed on most of my cousins as well.) Years later, I was able to look at the kid I was and think, well of course I wanted attention, I was a kid. I didn't do anything wrong or want anything abhorrent. There's nothing wrong with my desire. Yet, though I was able to think these healing thoughts, there was a cellular level of trusting experience I just didn't have.
To date, I have had incredible relationships, but trust and control have always been issues for me to deal with. Going through Landmark Education was profound in creating who I am and being the author of my own life story. Past constraints disappeared, but my past did not. I am committed to living a magnificent life. While committed and open, I didn't have a lot of experience in this new realm of possibility.
Then I met Abuello, your prized beloved horse. You made it so incredibly OK for me to be what ever was there for me, so I didn't fight myself at all. I just met Abuello and was open to his gentle loving energy. I could feel him supporting me. I also felt so secure that you were in control of the situation and I could just learn what you had to teach. You were so PRESENT for me. Both of you were. I felt alive and gotten in this really beautiful, non forceful way. The word gentle just keeps coming up. Feeling gentle while being vulnerable is not an
experience I am used to having. It is a miracle for me to have experienced that.
Thank you for all that you are for me and for others. I am grateful to you, Abuello, and JLF for assisting me in restoring my trust in myself and others. Joanne Lee, I honor you."
Sincerely, Christy Fair
